It’s time to start publishing to your Folio! This way you can include activities from the subjects you are taking, through the ActiFolio and even make the assignments for assessment directly in the RAC, and you can also include free content that you want to share publicly, or within the UOC community.
That’s why you need to know the different options for publishing permissions, and how to mark entries so that they are registered as evaluable. Below we detail all the options.
a) Introduction
Publish inside and outside the UOC space
fTo publish you must choose which level of permissions you want to give. To understand it better; which group do you want to allow to see your content?
Everyone? Just for you? Who is a member of the UOC community?… You have various options that are described below:
Publishing permissions
- Public: This content will be available to everyone who accesses our publication, it does not require authentication. It should be noted that for this type of publication, care must be taken to respect copyright and properly cite the sources used.
- Password: Similar to a public entry, but only visible to users with a password.
- Campus: This content is visible to all people who are part of the UOC community, students, teaching staff, management team, collaborators, in short, anyone who has a campus login.
- Classroom: This content can only be seen by your classmates. The content is published in your personal space, but it is also visible in the Agora of the Classroom, so you can see and share your creations and content. For this you will have to label the activity with an ActiFolio category, but we will explain this to you later.
- Teaching staff: by giving permission to the teaching staff, you will allow the Teaching Staff of the UOC to see your submissions; however, you will prevent your colleagues from accessing it.
- Private: This content is only visible to you.
How to post a PAC to Folio
The procedure for making deliveries of a PAC from Folio is very similar to posting a general entry. In fact, once it’s created and published you just need to make sure you use the button that defines it as a submission to the RAC.
Make delivery to the RAC
When it is indicated that the delivery of a PAC is made through Folio, during the delivery period, the Delivery to the RAC will be activated, within the publication options.
To make the delivery you must follow the following steps:
- Start by composing the entry as you normally would, and set the visibility to ‘Teaching’ or the visibility permission you were instructed to in the activity statement.
- Select the corresponding ActiFolio. Remember that this will allow all the content corresponding to the same subject and its activities to be unified and easily accessible.
- Once you have the activity ready to evaluate, press the button with the text “RAC Delivery”. This will make your publication appear to the faculty as an assessable submission. Follow the instructions to confirm that you want to make the delivery.
Once the submission is made, you will see the submission date and time information and can see it as it will be displayed to the faculty. You can deliver as many times as you deem necessary and they will appear in this section. However, keep in mind that only the latest version will be available for faculty to evaluate.
Once this step has been taken the entry will appear indicated for teachers to rate it, both in your Folio and in the associated Agora and, once assessed, you will be able to see the grade and comments on the same entry, as long as you have started session This entry will be frozen and, even if you make changes afterwards, if you do not resubmit, only the version you submitted to the RAC will be evaluated. What you’ve just done is, for practical purposes, a delivery like before via the RAC, but in this case a static link to the content you’ve decided to deliver to the RAC is automatically delivered.
Activity proposal
Make a post and remember that if you give teacher or classroom permission you must always indicate which ActiFolio it belongs to!
Check the different status of the tickets and how you can see the number of permits and visits (MULTIVIEW) by following the learning resource detailed below.
Remember that Folio is considered a tool with multiple functions:
- personal diary
- delivery notebook for teachers
- space to share in the Agora with colleagues
- study portfolios and finally
- professional portfolio
